Shopping & Zombies

This is my first mobile blog post, so hopefully it turns out ok! I am absolutely exhausted right now, due to the fact that I didn't sleep a wink last night, and honestly cannot bring myself to haul out my laptop. I downloaded the android Blogger mobile app, so far so good, not much in the way of options for editing, but I can fix any issues tomorrow, hopefully after a good nights sleep.

I tried everything last night... watching TV, turning the TV off. Reading. Listening to music, laying in silence. A snack, a drink. Lavender. I thought about a warm bath, but our bathtub takes forever to fill, and I didn't want to wake anyone. Nothing worked, and so here I am, absolutely wiped after merely making the kids lunch, cleaning up their lunch, doing the dishes, and sweeping. It is swelteringly hot though ( we have no A/C!!!), so I suppose that could be a contributing factor. Thankfully the little ones were listening when I asked them for a quiet day today, as they haven't argued once and their play isn't punctuated by the hollering and banging that is a normal occurence. They're a boisterous pair when it comes to playing dog and catcher!

Enough about my sleep deprivation. Last night Mike ( my future husband... next year!), the kids and I went to do a little shopping. Specifically, I was hunting for a nice, simple maxi dress, and a few lightweight crochet-style vests. I didn't come away empty handed! I will post pictures when I am no longer zombified, but I scooped up:

A black halter maxi
A white vest

A sheer/lace black vest
A blue/white striped sharkbite tee
2 bottles of nail polish, hot pink and coral
And cosmo, of course!

Tristan, being a boy, only wanted to scamper around in the clothes. Behind the racks, under the racks, through the racks... he is not a patient shopper. At least he was quiet and managed not to knock over any mannequins! A small victory for my accident prone boy. Bailey was a very helpful assistant, holding clothes for me while I browsed, giving her opinion on my selections - brutally honest in that way only children can get away with. Mike was, as usual, bored, but trying not to appear it. He did, however, perk up when I walked out of the fitting room wearing my new dress. I wasn't sure he would like it ( it shows no leg after all!) but I was pleasantly surprised by his reaction. I bought him a new hoodie for his efforts :) All in all, a happy trip! What did you score on your latest shopping excursion?
